I made these pastel drawings while living at the Julia and David White Artists Colony in Ciudad Colon, Costa Rica. Each day I would climb the dusty, steep and gutted gravel road outside the colony gates to reach the neighboring town of Piedades. Here I'd sit in the cool shade with a pleasant breeze at my side and draw the local people as they went about their business in the local shops or bought fruits and vegetables at the weekly farmer's market. |
